A BBC News investigation has uncovered failures in the diagnosis of serious medical issues during private baby scans. More than 200 studios across the UK now sell ultrasound scans, with hundreds of thousands being carried out each year. But the BBC has uncovered evidence of women not being told about serious conditions and abnormalities. The Care Quality Commission says there is good quality care in the industry but it has a "growing concern". BBC News has learned a report containing measures to protect ethnic minority groups from coronavirus has been drawn up for government. Public Health England published a review at the start of June confirming the disease kills people from ethnic minority communities at disproportionately high rates and was criticised for failing to make any recommendations. But a senior academic told BBC News a second report, containing safeguarding proposals to tackle this, also existed. A former aide to Priti Patel received a £25,000 payout from the government after claiming she was bullied by the then employment minister. Legal correspondence seen by the BBC says the woman took an overdose after the alleged incident in 2015. The DWP did not admit liability and Ms Patel strongly denies the allegations. Two young organisers of anti-racism protests in the UK have told BBC that theirs is the generation to bring about real change. Since the killing of George Floyd in the US the hashtag #blacklivesmatter has been used 40 million times on social media. Stephanie Lightfoot-Bennett, who's twin brother Leon Patterson died in police custody in 1992, said that while she is still fighting for justice, young people gave her hope.
